Rehome Your Dog
Considering rehoming or surrendering your pet? We understand that life can present challenges, and we're here to support you and your furry friend every step of the way.
Rehome Your Pet
We receive numerous requests daily to help pets in shelters or in need of new homes. While our foster homes are at full capacity, we strive to save as many lives as possible, prioritizing those in shelters who have been abandoned or orphaned. If you're considering rehoming your pet, we encourage you to explore Rehome, an innovative tool by the Petco Foundation. Rehome guides individuals through the process of finding a new home for their pet, connecting them with thousands of potential adopters on Adopt-a-Pet.com. Your pet deserves a happily-ever-after, and we hope Rehome can help make that happen.
Have You Tried Training?
We understand that facing behavior challenges with your dog can be overwhelming. Sometimes, these issues can lead to the difficult decision to rehome or surrender your pet. But before taking this step, we encourage you to consider professional training as a solution.
Training not only helps address common behavior concerns but also strengthens the bond between you and your dog. Many behaviors, from excessive barking to leash pulling or reactivity, can be improved with guidance from a skilled trainer.
Before surrendering your dog to Pit Squad Rescue, we kindly ask: Have you explored training options? To make it easier, we’ve partnered with trusted local trainers who specialize in helping dogs and their families overcome challenges together.
Surrender Your Pet
We understand that circumstances may arise where surrendering your dog becomes necessary. While we prioritize dogs in danger of euthanasia or in need of urgent medical care, we do consider owner surrenders based on urgency and foster home availability. Surrendering your pet to Pit Squad Rescue is a permanent decision, and we take this responsibility seriously. Our process involves reviewing your application, assessing if we have an open foster available, and determining if your dog is a fit for our rescue. If your dog is accepted, we'll make arrangements for their care; if not, we'll provide alternative resources to support you and your pet.
